Will Bittmann becomes first & last Golden Bear to tally 1,000 rebounds

It’s one thing to break a record, and a whole other accomplishment to have your name in the history books under a category of it’s own.
That’s what will happen to Eveleth-Gilbert boy’s basketball player Will Bittmann. On Monday night he became the one and only Golden Bear to tally 1,000 career rebounds.
"It was a little bitter sweet. It was a very nice accomplishment, I think it spoke very well of our team in general," Bittmann said. "It’s a little sad because it’s going to be the last team moment we’re going to have with our combination next year."
The senior center will hold the record, forever. As next season the team will transition into the Rock Ridge co-op.
Bittmann said as of right now he doesn’t have plans to continue playing basketball. However he is going out with a bang, having this season also scored his 1,000th career point.
