University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) women’s soccer forward Niya Wilson was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference’s (UMAC) Offensive Women’s Player of the Week on Tuesday.

The sophomore scored two goals, including the game winning goal, on Sunday as UWS downed the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 3-2.

It marked the Yellowjackets’ first ever win in the two programs’ 26 all-time meetings. This also marks the first UMAC weekly honor of Wilson’s career.

Next, UWS (1-1) will open road play on Friday visiting Augsburg University.
