UWS & CSS men fall in shootouts to open Superior Showdown

The University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) and College of St. Scholastica (CSS) men’s hockey teams both dropped their fourth annual Superior Showdown openers on Thursday at Wessman Arena.

In the first game of the day CSS and No. 10 Aurora played to a 2-2 tie after overtime, but it was Aurora that won the shootout 2-0. Arkhip Ledenkov scored both goals for the Saints.

In the second game UWS and Marian also played to a 2-2 tie, with Marian winning the shootout 1-0. Dylan Johnson and Jordan Martin scored for the Yellowjackets.

UWS (6-4-2) and CSS (6-4-1) will skate for third place Friday at 3pm.
