The first pitch on the Minnesota Twins 2022 season will be thrown on Friday, but before any Northlanders think about heading down to the Twin Cities for a game, there are some new additions to look out for at Target Field.

"When you think of Twins baseball for us at its best, Twins baseball brings the community together. At its core, Twins baseball is about kids, it’s about families, it’s about fans,” said Twins President/CEO Dave St. Peter.

The United Health Care Sensory Suite is one of the new additions, where neurotypical adults and kids are able to come for a little safe place. Target Field also now offers sensory kits available throughout the stadium. Fans can also go outside, experience the game, and have a full view of the ballpark.

“Now this is part of the ballpark space of what we feel really enhance and empower inclusivity in the game of baseball, both here at Target Field," Matt Hodson explained, the senior Twins Communications Manager. "The sensory suite and out in the community with the work that United Health Care is doing with our Twins community, funded Twins community department to work with coaches to develop programing to help neurotypical kids thrive and really enjoy the full baseball experience."

At the Truly on Deck Bar and Grill, patrons will be able to taste new Red Cow Burgers. Also fish and chips, along with the staple local brews.

“One of the best parts about this job is our partners and developing relationships and collaborating. Then you start these partnerships and they go on, and they go on, and things change over the years,” said Twins Executive Chef, Kurt Chenier.

Some things that haven’t changed however is the quality of not only the food, but the experience of being at a Twins game.

“This is what we do," St. Peter said. "The anticipation for Opening Day is always special. What when you add in all the different new elements that we’re unveiling [Tuesday], combined with a team that we think is poised to really make some noise in the American League Central, this is a great time. Great time to work for the team, it’s a great time to be a fan, great time to be a player." St. Peter concluded, "it’s baseball season and we can’t wait for it to start."

The Twins will host the Seattle Mariners for their 2022 season opener Friday at 3:10pm at Target Field.
