UMD’s Connor Kelley drafted by Blackhawks in 7th round

On Saturday, the Chicago Blackhawks selected University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) defenseman Connor Kelley in the 7th round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Kelley was picked 204th overall, making him the 116th Bulldog all-time to be taken in the NHL draft.

As a freshman last year, he assisted UMD to the NCAA Frozen Four, posting three goals and two assists during 25 games played.

With the pick on Saturday, Kelley joins teammates Blake Biondi, Wyatt Kaiser, Noah Cates, Luke Loheit, and Quinn Olson as the current Bulldogs who have been selected in the NHL Draft.
