UMD’s Ashton Bell selected to Canadian National Team for World Championships

It was announced on Thursday that University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) senior Ashton Bell has been selected to represent Canada at the 2021 IIHF Women’s World Championship.

She’s one of 25 skaters centralized for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing selected for the IIHF tournament.

The defenseman will join former Bulldog blueliner Jocelyne Larocque on the team.

While serving as a captain on the UMD women’s hockey team last season, Bell finished the year as Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Defenseman of the Year with 14 points.

The championship is set to take place at WinSport Arena at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary August 20th-31st.
