After a tough loss in the WCHA Final Face-Off semifinal game against Minnesota, the Bulldogs women’s hockey team is putting that in the rear view mirror and looking ahead to the NCAA tournament.

As in the selection show, they found out they would face Harvard in the regional semifinals.

"It’s a proud moment for our staff and our players, but this is what we wanted to do here at UMD when we came here 7 years ago. To be a perennial team in the NCAA tournament, and we want to keep it going so that it is the norm, like so many other teams have had that history we want to have it here to," said head coach Maura Crowell.

The Dogs swept Harvard on the road in January.

This marks the first back-to-back NCAA tournament bid for UMD since 2010/11.

The tournament is set to begin Thursday, with the winner facing No.2 Minnesota in the regional final.
