UMD women’s hockey falls in semifinal against Minnesota

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey team took on top-ranked University of Minnesota in the WCHA frozen-faceoff semifinals Friday.

The game unfortunately didn’t start the way UMD was hoping as Minnesota would score 51 seconds into the game.

The Gophers would then score three most goals, until in the third period Elizabeth Giguere would break the shut out.

Jojo Chobak was in net for UMD and made 34 saves in the 5-1 loss.

The team will now have to wait till the selection show, Sunday at 8:00 P.M to find out if they receive an NCAA tournament bid.
