UMD men’s hockey is crowned NCHC champions

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team was taking on Western Michigan University in the NCHC championship game Saturday night.

The first period was Dominic James that would open the scoring with a wrist shot from the left circle.

In the second period UMD would get on the powerplay, and find the back of the net with a goal from Casey Gilling.

Wyatt Kaiser would then collect his second goal of his career with a backhander in the third period.

As the Bulldogs were crowned NCHC Frozen Face-off champions for the third time in school history with a 3-0 win.
