UMD men’s & women’s basketball earn NSIC playoff 1st round byes

After closing out their regular seasons over the weekend, both the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s and women’s basketball teams earned first round byes heading into the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) playoffs.

The NSIC North Division champion Bulldog men (23-4) will wait to tip-off quarterfinal play until 11am Saturday, February 26. They’ll face the winner of Wednesday’s Winona State University versus the University of Mary game.

Earning a share of the NSIC title, the UMD women (21-4) also received a first round bye. They’ll play the winner of the University of Sioux Falls and U-Mary in the quarterfinals Sunday at 7pm in South Dakota’s Sanford Pentagon.
