UMD goalie Ryan Fanti nominated for Hobey Baker Award

University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey junior goalie Ryan Fanti has been nominated for the 2022 Hobey Baker Award.

He is one of 77 preliminary nominees. Only two goaltenders have won the award since its inception in 1981, Duluth native and Minnesota Gopher Robb Stauber in 1988, and Michigan State’s Ryan Miller in 2001.

Fanti currently leads the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) in goals against average with 1.62 and save percentage with a .934.
