UMD football elevates Balts to full time assistant coach
On Monday, the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) football team announced they elevated Jason Balts to a full time assistant coaching position.
Balts previously served as a postgraduate intern assistant coach.
The Barron, Wisconsin native serves as the Bulldogs’ defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator.
As a former player at UMD, Balts appeared in 34 career games for the Bulldogs from 2015-2018. In 2017 he became the sixth Bulldog to break 1,000 receiving yards in a single season when he recorded a total of 1,003 yards.
