Tornado confirmed from Wednesday’s storms

The National Weather Service surveyed the Eagle Lake area and confirmed there was a tornado on Wednesday afternoon.

Damage in southern Gnesen Township near Eagle Lake was determined to be tornadic in nature. The F-0 tornado touched down at 4:16pm on Wednesday, moving west to east until 4:19pm. The tornado started north of the intersection of Lismore Road and Arnold Road, tracking across Eagle Lake Road, across Jean Duluth Road, and ending near Lady Nicole Lane east of Jean Duluth road.

The tornado path was approximately 3.1 miles in length and 50 yards wide. The NWS estimates that it had a maximum windspeed of 85 mph.

Numerous trees were damaged, with some snapped near the base and others losing large branches. The tornado uprooted a few trees as well, but no property damage has been reported.
