Time to celebrate Edna G’s 125th anniversary in Two Harbors

Starting Friday, folks in Two Harbors can help celebrate the Edna G’s 125th anniversary.
"You don’t turn 125 every year. Even though she’s retired, she’s responsible for pulling ships that carried iron ore out of the harbor, which went to the mills, and built America," shared Kathy Glenn, chair of the Friends of the Edna G.
Built in 1896 by the Cleveland Shipbuilding Company, it was named after the daughter of the Duluth and Iron Range Railroad.
During her time on the water, she tugged boats filled with iron ore out of Agate Bay.
Festivities to celebrate her 125th start on Friday with a fish fry and live music at the American Legion Post 109 starting at 4:30pm.

Saturday, there’s a pancake breakfast at the Moose Lodge. Then tours on the tug start at 10am.
Expect to see all kinds of food, arts and crafts, and music through the weekend.
There will be family friendly activities at Paul Van Hoven Park, ncluding a community picnic on Sunday from 10am-3pm.
