Thunder Bay gives meter grace period for curbside pickup
The City of Thunder Bay is giving people a break from paying parking meter fees when picking up an order.
According to a post on the city’s social media feed, vehicles parked at Thunder Bay street meters now have a 15-minute grace period "while they are actively completing a curbside pick-up or delivery from local merchants."
The city said officers will continue enforcing all other parking regulations. People who are not actively completing a curbside pickup must still pay the meter.
A 50% capacity limit has been in effect for retailers, restaurants, and bars in Ontario since Dec. 19. Bars and restaurants must close at 11 p.m.
