While the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) softball team does not play a home game until March 29, they’re already well into their season.

The Bulldogs currently sit 8-1 overall and have already broken a major program record.

During their 7-1 victory over Northwest Missouri State University on Monday, senior Jordyn Thomas made history scoring her 45th career home run. It made the Hermantown native UMD’s all-time leader in home runs.

The first baseman and the Bulldogs will have next weekend off before returning to action on March 4 in Jan Phyl Village, FL.
