Superior’s Krueger, Ashland’s Defoe & Pearce wrestle to state berths

Over the weekend four Northland wrestlers punched their tickets to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) state tournament.
At sectional meets Superior’s Connor Krueger, Northwestern’s Ian Smith, and Ashland’s Austin Defoe and Isaac Pearce all wrestled their way onto the podium and into state.
Krueger, Smith, and Defoe earned sectional championships while Pearce finished third to advance. State is February 24-26 at the Kohl Center in Madison.
