Superior YMCA hosts inaugural "Together We Ride" event

Four area branches of the YMCA came together on Sunday for the inaugural "Together We Ride" event.

It was a fundraiser to help raise money for the YMCA annual support campaigns.

The community was able to get some exercise while also enjoying food, games, music, and more.

Organizers say they were pleased with the turnout.

"Our inspiration behind this was feeling like we all want to work more together in a time where we really want to bring people together," said Superior Douglas County Family YMCA CEO Chris Stenberg. "Today’s been incredible. You don’t always know what to expect these days at events, and your first hope is always that people show up. Right away at 2:00 today, we probably had a couple hundred people here," he added.

Fun for the kids included a bouncy house, a bike helmet giveaway, and of course the kiddos being able to ride their bikes through an obstacle course.

Organizers hope to host the event more in the future.
