Superior sputters out in fall season opener against Ellsworth

The Superior football team entered their 2021 fall opener on Friday riding a 5-1 record from their unconventional spring season. However, their second 2021 season opener would end in a loss to Ellsworth.
The Spartans fell 50-22 at home in their first fall game on the gridiron since 2019.
Next Superior (0-1) is set to visit Stevens Point August 27th for their road opener. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
Elsewhere in Wisconsin on Friday, Northwestern downed Ashland on the road 42-7 and Rice Lake won their home opener defeating Medford 28-6. Hayward fell to Osceola 46-8 at home, and Spooner fell to Prescott 33-0 on the road.
