Superior softball shuts out Cedarburg in state quarterfinals

Superior softball broke a nearly three decade drought on Thursday making their first state tournament appearance since 1993 in Madison.
The fifth seeded Spartans would return in dramatic fashion, shutting out fourth seeded Cedarburg 10-0 in five innings in the Division 1 quarterfinals.
Superior pitcher Haley Zembo allowed only three hits tallying six strikeouts in the win.
The Spartans advance to face top-seeded Kaukauna in the semifinals Friday at 9pm. For the full brackets, click here.
