Spectrum donated $1,000 to the veteran’s support organization 23rd Veteran Thursday morning.

The money will go towards 23rd Veterans 14-week program aimed at helping Duluth area veterans living with trauma.

Tonia Hanson nominated 23rd Veteran to receive the money. She said she chose the organization because of the help they provide veterans in transitioning to civilian life.

The Executive Director of 23rd Veteran, Mike Waldron said there are currently recruiting veterans for their program.

“Next month, we’re sending 12 veterans to the Florida Keys. They’re going to go sail boating for a week and then return and go through fitness and positive psychology for the next 13 weeks,” explained Waldron. “We’re currently recruiting for Veterans, so if you know anybody or if you’re a veteran who might be interested in these programs, check out [our] website.”

23rd Veteran is also raising money through their Nearly Naked Ruck March taking place May 21st at Mont Du Lac Resort. Registration for the event is currently open.
