Snow emergency for City of Washburn

Washburn city officials have declared a Snow Emergency starting at 4 PM Monday, February 21 and ending at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 23. A snow emergency means all vehicles must be removed from all city streets, alleys, and parking lots.

With upwards of 14 inches of snow with blowing and drifting, having residents move their vehicles will allow crews to clear city streets without obstruction. City officials say a snow emergency needs to be enforced in order for workers to keep streets and alleyways open for emergency vehicles and for public use.

Failure to comply may result in a citation. The Police Department will continue enforcing alternate side parking after the snow emergency expires.

According to a press release, plow drivers have been instructed to clear streets and alleyways full width starting with the 4:00 PM Monday.
