The Nor Shor theatre is hosting the History Theatre’s production of the award-winning Glensheen: The Musical.

The book is written by Jeffery Hatcher. The lyrics and music are by Chan Poling. The musical is dramatization of the Congdon Murders of 1977 and what led up to that fateful night, as well as the fallout.

Poling said one of the challenges he faced when writing the music and lyrics was: "This is a true story about two women who were who were brutally murdered. So how do you tell that story and put music to it. How do you do it tastefully?"

The two victims were heiress, Elisabeth Congdon, and the night nurse, Velma Pietala.

These are true events happened just miles from the theatre itself.

The musical is described as a dark comedy. Hatcher told WDIO, "It’s the fun musical of the summer!"

The show runs from June 3rd through the 12th. You may visit the box office at the NorShor Theatre Monday through Friday 10am-5pm or call 218-733-7555. You can also visit the website to purchase tickets.
