People of all ages participated in the annual Rivet Run and Walk at Pattison State Park on Nov. 7.

The event was put on by all volunteers and raised more than $35,000, with all donations supporting trails in the park.

“All the money goes directly to the trails here because the person that runs this park is really good at grooming and taking care of the park, so I wanted to make sure he had enough funds to do what he wanted,” said race organizer Eve Graves.

The overall male winner of the race was Barry Fischer with a time of 21:37, while the female winner was Brielle Simula with a time of 28:48.

Simula, who is 13, had just run in the state meet the day before the Rivet Run. She started the Rivet Run late and Graves noted that her actual running time was 24:30.

Other winners were Bob Peterson in Male 59 and under with a time of 25:07, Carrie Sanda in Female 59 and under with a time of 34:28, Jim Anderson in Male 60 plus with a time of 39:16, and Jill Lakhan in Female 60 plus with a time of 43:49.
