The City of Superior is getting ready to reconstruct one of its busiest streets, Hammond Avenue.

The project will involve new pavement and sidewalks, along with including other forms of transportation like walking and biking, and improving drainage.

The project is slated to start next year, but designers want your input right now.

"We’d like to find out from the residents what their thoughts are on the project, whether it’s sidewalks, whether it’s crosswalks, whether it’s medians, whether it’s multi-use paths," shares Todd Janigo with Superior Public Works. "If you’re a resident along the way and you’ve got a water issue, or there’s a problem with the neighborhood kids not being able to cross or any of those issues, that’s the stuff that we want to hear about."

The City of Superior has a website set up where residents can leave their comments, and learn more about the project details.

2022 is the design phase of the project. Next year in 2023, Belknap Street to North 21st Street will be under construction on Hammond Avenue. Then in 2024, 21st to 28th Streets will be under construction.
