The Proctor Fire Department demonstrated their new ladder truck to the community Wednesday evening.

The truck arrived in December, but the department wanted to wait until it was warmer to share with the community what their tax dollars bought.

Fire Chief Kerry Helquist said this is Proctor’s first ladder truck and brings many advantages.

“The big thing is firefighter safety, of course,” Helquist said. “We can put a ladder up 75 feet in the air, we can use it for ventilation, [and] we can use it for fire suppression.”
