Prep Volleyball: Hermantown, Grand Rapids pickup road wins, Northwestern shuts out Hayward

In prep volleyball action on Thursday, Hermantown and Grand Rapids picked up wins on the road, while Northwestern earned a shutout win at home over Hayward.

Hermantown held off Duluth Denfeld 25-14, 25-13, and 25-14 to win in straight sets.

Grand Rapids downed Bemidji 3-1. The Thunderhawks took set one 25-18, then the Lumberjacks tied it up winning the second set 23-25. Grand Rapids went on to take the next two sets 25-19 and 27-25 notching their third straight win.

In Wisconsin, Northwestern took care of busines shutting out Hayward 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 25-23). The Tigers were led by Brynn Hessel with 21 digs and 12 kills, Kayla Paulsen with 15 digs and 12 kills, and Brinley Tonn with 32 serving aces.
