Prep hockey: Superior boys & girls advance in sectional playoffs

Both the Superior boys and girls hockey teams picked up WIAA sectional playoff wins Thursday to advance in the postseason.
In Superior, the third seeded Spartan girls rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the first period to defeat No. 6 Northern Edge 6-4 in Sectional 1 Round 1. Keely Morehouse would net a hat-trick for Superior. They advance to face Hayward Co-op in round two next week.

On the road the seventh seeded Superior boys earned the 3-1 upset victory over No. 2 Eau Claire Memorial to advance to the Division 1 Sectional 1 semifinals. They’ll face No. 6 Chippewa Falls Tuesday night.
