Prep Hockey: Denfeld boys best Superior in OT, Duluth Marshall girls top Rock Ridge

In prep hockey Thursday, the Duluth Denfeld boys and Duluth Marshall girls picked up wins.

Brady McGinn scored the game-winner lifting No. 6 Denfeld past Superior to win 3-2 in overtime at Wessman Arena. The Hunters improve to 10-3 while the Spartans fall to 4-6-1.

At Mars Lakeview Arena, No. 7 Duluth Marshall downed Rock Ridge 5-1 to improve to 9-1 overall. Bianca McGiffert scored twice for the Hilltoppers in the first period.

Whittaker Heart scored for Denfeld in the first period Thursday night to tie the game 1-1 against Superior at Wessman Arena.[WDIO/Kyle Aune]
