Prep boys soccer: Duluth East & Denfeld earn shutout victories at home

In prep boys soccer action on Thursday both Duluth East and Duluth Denfeld earned shutout wins at home. Both matches were cut short due to lightning in the area.

In a battle of the once-beatens Duluth East downed Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (CEC) 1-0. William Smith scored the sole goal for the Greyhounds extending their win streak to five straight.

Duluth Easts (7-1-1) next visits St. Francis on Saturday. while CEC (5-2-1) will host Superior on Tuesday.

At Denfeld the Hunters downed No. 3, undefeated Superior 3-0. Parker Chastey, Skyler Fossum and Simon Davidson each scored for Duluth.

Next the Hunters (6-2) host Hibbing on Saturday. Falling to 8-1 Superior will visit Duluth Marshall on Saturday.
