Prep boys Basketball: Esko, Hermantown claim wins on opening night

Friday night marked the start of the regular Prep boys basketball season for Hermantown and Esko.

Hermantown hosted Chisago Lakes on Friday night.

Chisago’s Zander Schmidt started the scoring off in the game, he finished with 10 points.

Hermantown’s Blake Schmitz led the way for his team with 23 points, as the Hawks won 94-90.

Across the way on Friday night Esko played host to the Virginia Blue Devils.

Noah Mitchel of Virginia secured 21 points on the night, while Eskomo leader Makoi Perich finished with a game high 24 points.

Esko finished off the game winning 87-62.
