Prep Basketball: Hibbing boys hand Esko 1st loss, Mikrot scores 2,000th point

In prep basketball Tuesday, the Hibbing boys handed Esko their first loss, while Natalie Mikrot made Moose Lake/Willow River girls hoops history.

Ayden McDonald scored 34 points as Hibbing downed Esko 77-68 on the road. Makoi Perich led the Eskomos with 17 points, who entered the night 5-0 and off to their best start since the 2010-2011 season. Both teams now sit 5-1.

The Moose Lake/Willow River girls would fall 77-65 to Crosby-Ironton at home. However not before senior Natalie Mikrot would tally her 2,000th point becoming the first-ever Rebel to reach the mark.
