Prep basketball: Duluth East boys best Denfeld, No. 1 MIB girls snap Cloquet’s streak

In prep basketball Thursday, the Duluth East boys won a cross town clash at Duluth Denfeld, while the No. 1 Mountain Iron-Buhl (MIB) girls picked up a big road win.
Duluth East topped Denfeld 62-41 to improve to 7-7 on the season. With their match against Tartan postponed to Feb. 10, the Greyhounds are back in action Jan. 25 hosting Cloquet.
Scoring 24 points Jordan Zubich led MIB, No. 1 in Class A, to a 82-48 victory over Cloquet. The Rangers improve to 13-2 while Cloquet falls to 13-4 seeing their seven game win streak snapped.
