Prep basketball: Cloquet boys win in Wood City Classic, Esko sweeps Coaches Classic

Both the Esko boys and girls basketball teams were crowned Esko Coaches Classic victors on Wednesday, while the Cloquet boys basketball team picked up a win in the Wood City Classic.
The Esko boys downed Duluth Marshall 73-44. Eskomo Nickolas Swanson was named the 2022 tournament MVP.
The Esko girls rallied to defeat Hermantown 52-45 thanks to a 24 point night from tournament MVP Jayden Karppinen.
In Cloquet, the Lumberjack boys defeated Pine City 78-72 to close out the Wood City Classic. Mesabi East won the girls bracket downing Crosby-Ironton 62-60 in double overtime.
