The 2022 Park Point Rummage Sale kicks off Friday. The event is described as the "Longest Garage Sale in Duluth", featuring over 4 miles and 125 yards of bargains.

With inflation steadily on the rise, people have been looking for ways to get good deals on items whether new or used. Superior resident Jamie Collins found some deals on day one of the sales on Friday. "Some really nice bathroom rigs for three dollars each. There really larger ones, heavy-duty, and they have some nice padding underneath, so for $3 they were definitely worth the deal!"

This event give people the chance to sell items and at a good price before they move to the west coast, like Tom and his wife. "We wanted to make our items assessable and affordable to the majority of people coming and shopping today. We want to rehome our items," says Tom Berlage.

Even if someone could not afford any item, the couple wanted to help in any way they could. Berlage shared, "were willing to negotiate and come to something that makes us both happy. We have been able to sell a lot of furniture that way."

Elizabeth Jackson, who recently moved to Wisconsin, was looking for items for her family’s new home. “There are tons of things that you need when you move into a house or a new place, and with everything being as expensive as it is, this is a great way to not have to spend top dollar, but you still get really quality stuff,” says Jackson.

Lots of Park Point homes are setting up sales. Plus food will be available for purchase, allowing you to keep on shopping.

A reminder: there’s no public areas for people to set up sales. The sale continues through Saturday, 8-5pm each day.

There is free street parking on the route. However, another option is parking at the Beach House or in Canal Park to walk the stretch on foot, just bring a bag to carry all your finds.

Happy shopping!
