No plans for Duluth to bring back mask mandate
While Minneapolis and St. Paul have announced new masks mandates due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, there are no such plans in Duluth as of now.
City spokesperson Kate Van Daele said the city is tracking the spread of COVID-19 at the city, county, and state level.
"City Administration currently does not have plans to bring the mandate back, and will continue to talk to City Councilors about how to ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike," Van Daele said.
The city council voted to require masks beginning July 13, 2020, and a statewide mask requirement came into effect nine days later. Both the city and state mask mandates were dropped in May 2021 after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that masks were no longer required for fully vaccinated individuals in most places.
