The No. 6 University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey team dominated Minnesota State University-Mankato in their season opener.

Senior Naomi Rogge lead the charge for the Bulldogs collecting two goals and two assist.

While backstopping the team was senior goalie Emma Soderberg, who posted a shut out with 14 total saves.

"First period was a little bit of a jumbled mess but we figured it out, obviously popped the puck in when we needed to," head coach Maura Crowell said during a post game press conference. "I thought the third was our best. I saw more of our structure, more of the way that we like to play. Obviously had the advantage there with some power plays, 5-on-3s, and things like that."

UMD notched their first win by the final score of 7-0.

Puck drop on their series finale with the Mavericks is Saturday at 3:01 p.m.
