A three goal performance from the No. 6 University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team wasn’t enough to hold off No. 3 University of Denver Friday night.
The Pioneers defeated the Bulldogs 5-3 in Colorado.
Blake Biondi, Casey Gilling, and Tanner Laderoute each tallied a goal for UMD, while Ryan Fanti made 27 saves in net.
The Bulldogs (14-11-3) will fight to split the series Saturday night. Puck drop is set for 7pm.
