The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) volleyball team is coming off an impressive 4-0 run in the Wisconsin-Parkside tournament over the weekend.

Fifth year outside hitter Kate Berg eclipsed the 1,000th dig mark in her career helping the Bulldogs extend their win streak to seven straight.

Now sitting 7-1 overall, number 16 UMD will look to carry that momentum into their home opener on Friday. They’re set to host fifth ranked Wayne State College in their first regular season match at Romano Gym since the fall of 2019.

"There’s a lot of people that haven’t even played in Romano yet," senior Sydney Lanoue said. "I’m hoping to get a good turnout. This is why a lot of people commit to play here, we have a great community that backs us up all the time. Playing in this atmosphere is what a lot of people come here to do."

First serve on Friday is set for 6pm. Then on Saturday UMD will host Augustana University at 2pm. For their full schedule, click here.
