There was a gathering to raise awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women at Harborview Park in Superior Wednesday.

Red dresses were hung up as part of the “Clothes Line Project” to symbolize those missing or murdered.

The City of Duluth’s Indigenous Commissioner. Phoebe Davis, was at the event and called the ongoing problem something most Native American families know too well.

"I think everyone in the Native American population has someone who is missing or murdered in their family,” said Davis. “This is an important event so that these families and that these people who have gone missing are not invisible or forgotten."

Davis went on to say that people can help by getting the message out through supporting events and sharing information on social media.
