On the third Monday in January, we honor the life and accomplishments of civil rights leader Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This year, Minnesota’s annual celebration will be virtual. It’s a 25-minute video that will be posted on Governor Tim Walz’s YouTube page at 11a.m. It follows the 2022 theme of Beloved Community in action as Minnesotans of all ages and backgrounds reflect on what Doctor King means to them. There will be sign language on screen as well as captioning available in multiple languages.

Many federal, state and local offices are closed in recognition of the day. The United States Postal Service is not running for the day.
