Freezing temperatures Tuesday night made clean up of a burst sprinkler system at Marcus theaters in Canal Park even more challenging.

Duluth Fire officials say a sprinkler pipe broke around 4:40 Tuesday forcing the building to be evacuated.

Water was seen pouring out of outdoor light fixtures and also pouring into the indoor lobby area.

Officials say the theater is closed until the broken pipe can be fixed and the sprinkler system restored.

It’s not clear what caused the problem and damage is estimated at around $5,000.
