Man accused of shooting two people at Gogebic Co. cabin, killing one

A prosecutor has filed four felony charges against a Pennsylvania man following a Christmas Eve homicide in Gogebic County.
Thirty-year-old Nicholas Millard of Spring Mills, PA, is accused of shooting two people at a Marenisco Township cabin. Sheriff’s deputies, Michigan State Troopers, and officers from the Lac Vieux Desert Tribal Police Department responded to the cabin at 1:15 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 24.
Thomas Fletcher, 49, of Marenisco Township died at the scene. 22-year-old Austin Fletcher of Irvine, CA, was transported to the Ironwood hospital and later transferred to a Duluth hospital, where he was treated and released.
Undersheriff Ross C. Solberg says Millard was arraigned in court on Sunday, Dec. 26. Millard is charged with first-degree homicide and assault with intent to murder, along with two weapons charges.
Millard is being held in Gogebic County Jail on $1 million cash bond.
