‘Locally Laid Egg Company’ seeking used cartons

A local business is asking for your help as they face difficulties acquiring items necessary for their business. ‘Locally Laid Egg Company’, based out of Wrenshall, MN is struggling to find cartons for their eggs.

"The reason that we can’t supply cartons right now is two-fold,” explained Marketing Chick Lucie Amundsen. “It’s supply issues because remember the great toilet paper hunt of 2021. Well, that was paper and these are also made out of paper and labor shortages because there’s people who work in a plant to create these and then drive them to places."

The business has been around since 2012, and while supply issues are not new, this is the worst the company has seen.

“This is a first for not being able to supply cartons,” said Amundsen. “Sometimes it can be tough where we’re moving cartons around and it brings on the totally anticipated shell game pun but we do move cartons around from distributor to to cleaning processing areas. This is the first time that we have just been out of luck having cartons.”

To help with this issue, you can donate your gently used cartons to the Duluth Whole Foods Co-Op. Only Locally Laid Egg Company cartons are being accepted because the company is also having trouble finding a distributor for their stickers.
