“Wednesday Night at the Races” continues at Superior High School

“Wednesday Night at the Races” continued at Superior High School Wednesday evening.

Superior High is one of four locations around the Twin Ports where the races are being held this summer.

Grandma’s marathon and the Young Athletes Foundation put them on with the goal of getting kids out and active during the summer months.

“It’s so much fun, especially after the last year and a half these kids have gone through,” said Zach Schneider with Grandma’s, “I mean, just to get together with some of their friends, maybe some new people, and be active. It’s a great program for us and hopefully we’re creating some lifelong runners here.”

Races are free and open to all children ages 14 and under.

Participants have the opportunity to complete either an eighth of a mile — a quarter mile, or a half mile course — based on their age.

The next race will be held next Wednesday at Hermantown High School.
