Klein, Hanley named 2021-2022 UMD women’s hockey captains, Skinner to wear ‘A’

It was announced Monday that senior forwards Anna Klein and Kylie Hanley will serve as the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey team captains for the 2021-2022 season, while senior defenseman Kailee Skinner will serve as alternate captain.

Klein wore an ‘A’ on her sweater last season and led the Bulldogs in scoring tallying 11 goals and 11 assists in 19 games. She ranked fourth in points among the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and 11th in the NCAA.

In addition, Hanley played in just 11 games this season, but put up three goals and three assists. She ended up suffering suffered a season-ending leg injury midway through the 2020-21 season.

Skinner, who will serve as alternate captain, has skated in 90-consecutive games over her career. She’s notched five goals and 16 assists.
