Hughes named top 5 finalist for Hockey Humanitarian Award

University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey senior forward Gabbie Hughes has been named a top five finalist for the 2022 Hockey Humanitarian Award.

This prestigious honor is presented annually to college hockey’s "finest citizen", one who showcases leadership through community service.

Hughes has been strongly involved in the Sophie’s Squad initiative, this honor marks her as the second Hockey Humanitarian finalist in Bulldogs history.

The 27th recipient of the Hockey Humanitarian Award will be honored in a ceremony on April 8 as part of the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four in Boston.
