Financial professional Barry Bigelow from Great Waters Financial is helping you manifest your money in the new year.

He says when you manifest, you bring your dreams to life. It’s getting clarity on what you want out of your life, how you want things to change and what ideal looks like for you – and then believing you have everything you need to achieve it. Manifesting money is like manifesting-love, success or anything you want. You set an intention and believe you can make that intention real.

A way you can manifest your money is by identifying your money mindset. Bigelow says our mindset is an established set of attitudes we hold. Studies suggest a positive mindset can lead to increased productivity, and our mindset can impact our health, both positively and negatively. It’s never too late to change your mindset! If you are diligent, your mindset can be shifted over time. Tell your spouse and hold each other accountable for starting and maintaining these new money mindsets. Also, include your financial professional in the conversation. They can be your accountability partner as you plan for the future.

Next is to choose your money mantra. According to Bigelow, a money mantra is a short, meaningful statement you repeat to yourself on a regular basis to help you build your money confidence, attract abundance in your life, and reach your goals. A mantra is not a wish but instead a spoken reminder that will help you create the foundation for how you view and manage money. Over time, it will become easier to make better financial decisions.

Next is to visualize your goals. Bigelow says to get a goal, make a plan outlining what you can do to reach that goal, and then work through the steps that you outlined. Some examples would be paying off debt, buying a house, increasing your savings account or achieving a higher income. He tells his clients to visualize exactly what they want to do in retirement. Will you travel? Move to a warmer climate? Or spend more time with family? Knowing how you want to spend your retirement will inspire you to work harder to achieve it.
He has a Passion and Interest Inventory Worksheet his website.

And lastly, Bigelow reminds others that you don’t know where you’re going until you know where you’ve been. Figure out what your financial life looked like over the past year. Start with income and expenses to determine where you need to adjust. Identify where you spent too much and where you could have saved more. If you have questions, a financial professional will be able to look at every aspect of your finances and create a strategy that narrows down your options based on what you want to accomplish.
