A Northland organization is asking for your help to give back to law enforcement.

The Hot Rods for Hot Wheels and Cars for Kids Fundraiser will be held on August 7th.

It’s a car show that collects toy cars that police and fire can give to kids.

The goal is to collect 20,000 hot wheels that will then be given out to police and firefighters at the event.

Eric Waller, one of the organizers, said it’s all about building a positive relationship between kids and law enforcement.

"We’re trying to build friendships between mostly the police department to where every kid needs a cop for a friend, and trying to turn that around, and we’re trying to influence kids for building creative minds,” Waller said.

Waller said they have already collected over 8,700 hot wheel cars.

They plan to give all of what they collect to police and firefighters on August 7th at the Buffalo House in Duluth.
