Hibbing basketball star Ayden McDonald commits to Augustana

On Friday, Hibbing basketball’s all time leading scorer in Ayden McDonald announced his commitment to Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

There, the incoming high school senior, plans to continue both his academic and basketball careers.

As a junior last season, the Bluejacket guard finished the year with a program career-high 1,687 points.

Averaging over 18 points and 11 assists a game, he helped Hibbing make their first state tournament appearance in 32 years.

McDonald achieved all this under the leadership of his father, and Hibbing boy’s basketball head coach, Joel McDonald.
